AbstractThe relocation of urban spatial planning improvements brought a number of changes to the life of the ex-Kampung Pulo community. This project targets the Kampung Pulo area of Kampung Melayu Village, Jatinegara District. The affected area consists of three community units in RW O1, RW 2, and RW 03 with a total population of 917 families and 533 plots of land/houses. This effort is an essential part of the normalization plan for the Ciliwung River area, carried out by Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama. In this study, the method used by researchers is qualitative with a case study approach. The data was obtained through various sources of information, namely interviews, observations, audiovisual materials, documents, and various reports related to the normalization program of the Ciliwung River and the relocation of Kampung Pulo. This research shows that the impact is felt in the economic sector, from home-based businesses that are difficult to run to arrears of unit rent. Changes in the quality of life can be seen from the efforts to resolve the Gendong KK which are rife in the ex-Kampung Pulo community. Meanwhile, the political implications are reflected in the defeat of the Ahok-Djarot pair in the 2017 Jakarta Pilkada.
