Abstract

The transformation of the digital era has brought changes to the study of political science into the cyber realm. The pace of information and technology development has also brought changes to the socio-political behavior of society. Political activism also transformed into a virtual form. Public space which is a medium for conveying forms of demonstrations or political participation is now experiencing a change to cyber space. Political cyber becomes a new perspective in the form of democracy. Social interactions, political activities, political participation, and political campaigns are considered to be more effective in reaching audiences. The purpose of this study is to understand the phenomenon of activism and public participation in cyberpolitics. Political activism such as group action (collectivized collective action) and individualized collective action, or what is known as consensus mobilization is now shifting to cyber space. Deeper than that, cyberpolitics can be said to be a cloning of real political and democratic life in which every individual has a sense of equal rights so that whatever is in the mind, political image, or feelings of dissatisfaction with the government's performance can be expressed in cyber space. In conclusion, in this study the researcher explains and answers from a political perspective how modernization produces technological advances which are followed by social and political changes in society, so that in the future cyberpolitics will become a new treasure of interest to study.
